June 17th will see Silver Owls release the second single from their widely acclaimed debut EP ‘Serpentine’, ‘Sleeping Giant’ is a blend of frenzied, melodic, indie rock, and is an anti-war song. Written in response to what is happening in the world right now. The song is played at spitfire intensity and calls for people to rise up and do what they can to stop needless violence, and to help those who have been affected by wars, so we begin to focus on more pressing issues facing humanity.
Silver Owls, while a new band, its members are well known to the music scene in Ireland & further afield with John ‘Haggis’ Hegarty, vox and drums and Eddie Butt, guitars and bass both founding members of Irish indie stalwarts ‘Emperor of Ice Cream’. John has also released music with Speckled Doves, Band of Clouds and Gammy Origami while Eddie is also a member of dark wave favourites Arctic Lights.
Silver Owls ‘Serpentine’ EP, while mainly a musical project, also has a considerable visual aspect, with each of the five EP tracks having a visual representation. John and Eddie really show their creative ingenuity on this EP with the duo taking on the duties of music, lyrics, production, mixing, mastering, artwork and video production.
The EP which was released on May 6th consists of two lead tracks, ‘Serpentine’ the title track, the aforementioned ‘Sleeping Giant’ and are by joined three remixes, the EP is available now via bandcamp on limited-edition cassette, CD and digital download.
FIFA Records while maintaining an independent ethos puts a huge focus on building strong working relationships and partnerships with the artists and by working with locally owned businesses to ensure it sustains a vibrant infrastructure in a web of economic and social relationships. The aim, to benefit not only the artists but to contribute in its own small way to a sustainable local and national economy which it believes is critical in the current environment. Στις 17 Ιουνίου οι Silver Owls θα κυκλοφορήσουν το δεύτερο σινγκλ από το ευρέως αναγνωρισμένο ντεμπούτο EP τους «Serpentine», το «Sleeping Giant» είναι ένα μείγμα φρενήρης, μελωδικής, indie rock και είναι ένα τραγούδι κατά του πολέμου. Γράφτηκε ως απάντηση σε αυτό που συμβαίνει στον κόσμο αυτή τη στιγμή. Το τραγούδι παίζεται σε ένταση spitfire και καλεί τους ανθρώπους να ξεσηκωθούν και να κάνουν ό,τι μπορούν για να σταματήσουν την περιττή βία και να βοηθήσουν όσους έχουν πληγεί από πολέμους, ώστε να αρχίσουμε να εστιάζουμε σε πιο πιεστικά ζητήματα που αντιμετωπίζει η ανθρωπότητα.
